Alma H. Burnette

Alma H. Burnette, 102, Church Hill, TN, formerly of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was born in Overton County, TN and lived in Knoxville before moving to Church Hill. Alma was a member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, W.C. (Claude) Burnette, parents, George and Rhoda Howard, two sisters, and four brothers.

Alma is survived by her son, Bill Burnette and wife, Martha of Church Hill, TN; daughter, Rita Buckman and husband, Rick of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Travis Burnette and wife, DeeDee, Amanda Burnette, Matthew Buckman, Katie Buckman, and Jenny Ogle and husband, Braden; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Carter Burnette; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 am at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN with Rev. Edsel West officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 207 North Boone St., Johnson City, TN 37604, or to the charity of one's choice.
