Betty Rector

Betty Joyce Rector, 66, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her residence. Born in Coeburn, VA on December 29, 1947, a daughter of Mary Lockie Rhea Kilburn, and the late Ulysses Rhea, she had resided in this area since 1955. Betty was a Baptist and a member of Kingsport Baptist Temple.

In addition to her father Betty was preceded in death by an infant brother; maternal grandparents, Daniel Ramsey and Hannah Blair Ramsey; and paternal grandparents, Charles Rhea and Clyda Smith Rhea.

Betty is survived by her husband of 37 years, Roy Kyle Rector; mother, Mary Lockie Rhea Kilburn of Kingsport; sons, Tim Qualls and wife, Lorie Walters Qualls of Houston, TX, and Donald Edward Rhea and wife, Heather Barnett Rhea of Kingsport;; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 1-3:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
