Beulah Banner

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven.

Beulah Mardean Banner, 91, Kingsport, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Holston Manor. She was born Beulah Jefferson to Callie and Thomas Jefferson on February 26, 1924 in Pickens County, Alabama. She moved to Kingsport in 1953 where she took up cleaning houses. Beulah was a member of Central Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board for many years.

Beulah was a God fearing woman with a lot of love in her heart. There was never a time when you wouldn't see kids at her home, everyone was welcome. We are not mourning her death, we are truly celebrating her life because she was a light in our path.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Banner; son, James Lee Mullins; and sisters, Mary Edna Greene and Annette Jamison.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters, Marie Jefferson and Helen Legrone; brother-in-law, J.C. Jamison; three grandchildren, Curtis, Angela and Aaron Hutcherson; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as friends that will miss her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-7:00 pm at Central Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Richardo Dorcean and Rev. Charles Hawkins officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 am at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
