Carl Weed

Carl Weed, 85, Kingsport, died Thursday morning, August 18, 2016, after complications from a stroke. Born in San Pedro, CA, he had resided in Kingsport since 1960. Carl was a graduate of Michigan Tech where he received a mechanical engineering degree. He retired from Mead Corporation after more than 35 years of service. Carl was an avid golfer and has been a club champion at Ridgefields Country Club. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Weed and 2 brothers.

Carl is survived by his stepdaughter. Becky Britton of Kingsport; sister, Joyce McEwen of Hayward, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Thank you to all the staff at Baysmont Asbury Center who have been like family, Preston Place, Dr. Dale Solomon and nurse, Sherry, and Dr. Bulle, for all of their support and care.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 12-1:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Inurnment will follow at the church memorial garden with The Rev. James Edward Mills and the Rev. Chris Harpster officiating.
