Carl Wheelock

Carl Wheelock, 84, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Greene County, he had resided most of his life in Fall Branch. Carl had graduated in 1949 from Sulphur Springs High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Carl had retired from the Kingsport Press following 35 years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vanda Wheelock; and parents, Hubert and Lottie Wheelock

Carl is survived by two sons, Gene Wheelock, Kenny Wheelock and wife, Terry; and one grand-daughter, Mindy Wheelock.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Steve Pate officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Providence Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
