Cindy Ginty, 47, of Kingsport, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at her home, after an extended fight with cancer. Born in Bayshore, New York, she had resided in Kingsport since 2007. Cindy was a graduate of East Islip High School in Islip Terrace, New York, and State University of New York at Albany. Cindy had worked as a Teacher's Aid at St. Dominic Catholic School. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Ginty, of the home; one daughter, Jillian Alina Ginty, of the home; one son, Ryan Justin Ginty, of the home; mother, Carol Duryea of Oakdale, New York; father, Gary Duryea and wife, Valerie of Aiken, South Carolina; one sister, April Racanelli, of Bayport, New York and brother-in-law Martin Racanelli; brother, Brett Duryea of New York; step-sister, Candice Meyer of Aiken, South Carolina; step-brothers, Robert Diekman of Brooklyn, New York, John Diekman of Charlotte, North Carolina; mother and father-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Ginty of Jupiter, Florida; sister-in-law, Eileen Ginty of Islip Terrace, New York; and brother-in-law, Michael Ginty of Islip Terrace, New York.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church. A celebration of Cindy's life will begin with funeral mass at 6 p.m. with Rev. Michael Cummins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Dominic Catholic School, 1474 E Center St., Kingsport, TN 37664, and Smoky Mountain Home Health Hospice, 222 Heritage Blvd., P.O. Box 754, Newport, Tennessee 37822.
