Ed Morelock

Ed Morelock, 81, Beech Creek Community, went to be with the Lord, Christmas day, December 25, 2017. Ed was born in Beech Creek where he had lived his entire life. He was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church. Ed was an employee of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home for more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Joe Morelock; parents, Clara and Thurlie Morelock; sister, Edith Adams; and brother, Kermit Morelock.

Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Morelock of the home; sons, John "Punk" Morelock of Rogersville, and Chad Morelock and wife, Leona and grandson Bronson Morelock, of Bowling Green, KY; and 3 sisters, Bella Marie Arnold, Polly Tester and Shirley Pyle.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Keith Williams and Pastor Terry Roberts officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice and Dr. Kevin Misischia.
