Enoch Lilburn Miller

Enoch Lilburn Miller (E. L.), 91, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. Mr. Miller was born in Natural Tunnel, VA, to the late Susie Miller Kern and Enoch Miller, Sr. and step-father, Rufus Kern.

He was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church in Kingsport. He was a veteran of the Army and served in World War II. He retired from Eastman Kodak Company Polymers Division after 42 years of service.

In addition to his parents and step-father, Enoch was preceded in death by wives, Dorothy J. Miller and Margaret Miller; brother, Guy Kern; sons, Gary and Terry Miller; and brother-in-law Jack Powers.

He left behind to cherish his memory his sister, Linda Powers; son, Jimmie L. Miller (Connie); daughters-in-law, Garnetta Miller and Bonnie Miller Lough; grandchildren, Jeff Miller, Karen Miller, Jason Miller, Angela Miller, Teresa Miller, Allen Miller, Melissa Shipley and Brandon Miller; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Preston, Corey, Cassie, Eli, Aleah, Eric, Megan, Elijah, Melody and Nora Grace; sister-in-law, Phebe Kern; several nieces and nephews; step-sons, Earl Hood (Ruth Ann), Thomas Hood (Jennifer), and step-daughter Jeanne Parker (Shaffer).

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 4 pm with Pastor David Foster and Pastor David Smith officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 am on Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by The American Legion posts #3/265.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Miller, Jason Miller, Preston Miller, Corey Miller, Brandon Miller, and Benny Ketron. Dale Reece will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
