Ernie "Bobby" Vaughn, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He had retired from Mason Dixon Tank Lines and following his retirement, sold cars at numerous dealerships. Ernie attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Church Hill. Ernie's greatest enjoyment in life was his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and also little Millie. In life you only come across a few very special people, who put others above themselves and that was Ernie, he had touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Loring Vaughn; parents, Earl and Georgia Vaughn; brother and best friend, Norman Vaughn; and sister, Mavis Coffey.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Vaughn; son, Bobby Vaughn and wife, Amy; daughter, Rachel Vaughn and fiancé, Kevin Robinson; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; brother, David Vaughn and wife, Kathy; sister-in-law, Margaret Vaughn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport or at any time at the home of his son. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Stephen Jackson and Rev. Mitch Russell officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 208 Maple Ave., Church Hill, TN 37642.
