HD Lewis

Haskel "HD" Dale Lewis, 78, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 24, 2015.

Born in Washington County, he was the son of the late US and Maude Gibson Lewis. HD served in the US Army during the Korean War as a cook. He was owner and operator of HD Lewis Construction Company and a prominent builder in the region for 40 years. Mr. Lewis was a member of Johnson Masonic Lodge, Post # 274 and of Fall Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Lewis loved his cattle and his dog Lil Bit. He was a constant farmer and gardener and was never more comfortable anywhere as he was on his tractor.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie Crawford Lewis and a brother WH Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Wallace Lewis; daughter, LaDonna Williams; two grandchildren, Zechariah Dale Pugh III and wife Cassie and Kirsten Rebekah Hale and husband Rick; three step grandchildren, Kari and Kelly Myers and Morgan Weatherly; four great grandsons, Broderick, Samuel, Zechariah IV, and Jonah; brother, Harold Gibson Lewis; niece, Nancy Call; and nephew, Charles Lewis.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of ICU and PCU, Wilcox Hall, for the care and compassion they gave HD.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, 4:30-6:30pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch with services following immediately at 6:30pm, with Rev. Don McCann officiating.

Graveside services will be held, 11:00a.m., Wednesday, at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Zechariah Dale Pugh III, David Sturgill, Rick Hale, Zack Pugh, Keith Myers, Charlie Lewis.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Mark Hawkins, Harold Lewis, Ricky Crawford, and Tommy Bartley.
