Jan Mitchell Faircloth

Jan Mitchell Faircloth, 72, of Oakwood, GA, died from complications of a prolonged illness January 18, 2015, with her family by her side.

Beloved daughter of the late Paul and Gladys Mitchell of Kingsport, TN, she was born July 19, 1942. Jan graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1960 and received a BA in English from the University of Tennessee. She worked in purchasing for 25 years at Bluebird Bus Company until she retired in 2001 to care for her mother full time. Jan obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant license in 2004 to continue her compassionate caring for others' loved ones. In 2010 she fully retired and enjoyed spending her time gardening, keeping in touch with life-long friends, supporting the ASPCA, and time with her family.

Jan is survived by her son, Christian Faircloth and daughter-in-law, Connie Faircloth of Buford, GA.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, January 23, 2015, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Although Jan loved flowers, she asked that donations be made to the ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804, in her honor.
