Joyce B. Gossett

Joyce B. Gossett, 67, of Kingsport, went home to be with Jesus Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Joyce was born in Chattanooga, TN in 1947. She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1965 and from Kingsport School of Practical Nursing in 1980. Joyce was honored with the Christine B. Triebe award and retired from the Children's Clinic as an LPN assistant to the doctor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John R. Gossett III.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John R. Gossett, Jr; sons, Jerald R. (Michelle), James R. (Trisha), Joe R. (Kim), and Jeff R. (Louanne); grandchildren, Jesse, Laci, Ashley, Ryan, Julie, John and Carmen; great-grandchildren, Ellington, Chloe and Jax; and sisters, Brenda Fay Hill and Nancy Dougherty.

At Joyce's request, she will be cremated. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. At a later date, there will be a Celebration of Her Life with the scattering of her ashes.

In lieu of flowers, she has asked that donations be sent to First Baptist Church, 200 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660, or to the charity of your choice.

She hated to leave all of her family and many friends in this life, but she was ready to go home to be with Jesus.
