Lois Phipps

Lois Weatherly Phipps, 81, Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with her family at her bedside.

She loved the Lord, her family and her church family dearly. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Charity Chapel Baptist Church.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Flora Smallwood; her husband of 40 years, Clarence "Dewitt" Weatherly; her loving baby girl, Deborah Sue Weatherly; her oldest son, David Weatherly; husband of eight years, Bud Phipps; sisters, Velma Short and Edith Housewright; brothers, Enoch Depew and Gene Smallwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita Weatherly Morelock and husband Al, Kingsport; four sons, Larry Weatherly and wife, Dianah, Blountville, Ronnie Weatherly and wife, Melissa, Church Hill, Bobby Weatherly and wife Amy, Kingsport; and Scott Weatherly, Church Hill; grandchildren, Karen, Andrea, Jonathon, Jason, Brad, Nakisha, Matt, Ally, Chelsea, Kayla, Amber, Miranda, Savannah, Justin, Katie, Emilie and Hunter; sisters, Ruth Kindle and Nancy Trent; twelve great-grandchildren; one special great-grandchild, Addison Weatherly.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, and at any time at her residence. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Charity Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Owens, Evangelist Paul Manis, Evangelist Ted Riner, and Evangelist Jerry Scalf officiating. Special music will be provided by The Moneyhun Family.

Burial will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
