Lynn Chadwell

Alice Malinda "Lynn" Cox Chadwell, 94, of Kingsport, TN, peacefully passed on Wednesday, February 6, 2018, and is at home with Jesus Christ in His house in heaven. She was born in Kingsport where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended Mary Baldwin College. Lynn worked at home, the Kingsport Nursery Center, Holston Defense and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kingsport.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, JD and Maxie Newland Cox; her husband, James J. Chadwell; her brothers, Jo-Bill and Phillip Cox; and her sister, Peggy Cox Wray.

Lynn is survived by her children, Andrea Sielken and husband, Bob, Jefferson Chadwell and wife, Angel, Scott Chadwell and wife, Melanie, Joe Chadwell and wife, Debbie, and Phillip Chadwell and wife, Sarah; grandchildren: Penny Jane Woody, husband, Tony and great-grandduaghter, Malinda; John Elder, wife, Catherine, and great-granddaughter, Natalie; Shaela Fleashman, her husband, Thomas and great-grandson, Kason; Brandon Pitzer and great-grandson, Heath Pitzer; Britnie Pittman and husband, Derrick and great-grandson, Mason; Lee Chadwell & wife, Ashley; Brandon Chadwell, wife, Rainey and great-grandson, Harrison; Justin Chadwell wife, Megan and great-grandsons, Landon and Collin, Lance Chadwell and wife Kaylee.

A special appreciation to the staff at Asbury Place at Steadman Hills Assisted Living for the tender and loving care for Lynn and her family.

The family will receive friends in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church of Kingsport, from 12-1:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2018. The funeral will follow the service at 1:00 pm with Phillip Chadwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions or gifts be made to Asbury Place at Steadman Hills, 1800 Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport, TN 37660.
