Myrl Faulk

Myrl Faulk, 96, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, after a long illness, and is with her beloved husband, Earl. Myrl lived her entire life in the Bloomingdale Community. She was an active member of Kingsley United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. Myrl loved camping and fishing with Earl for many years after his retirement.

She was preceded in death by Earl, her husband of 78 years; parents, Otis and Fannie Salley; brother, Talmadge Salley; sister, Marie Compton; and great-grandsons, Warren Boone and Richard Chase Oaks.

Myrl is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hamilton and husband, Marlin of Kingsport; granddaughter, Bobbi Oaks and husband, Todd of Kingsport; grandson, Roger Sutherland and wife, Sherry of Kingsport; great-grandchildren, Bailey Qualls and husband, Parry of Johnson City, Seth Oaks, Elijah Sutherland and Maddie Sutherland of Kingsport; sister, Billie Jo Stafford of Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thanks to the nurses and CNA's at Nova Health Care, wing 100, for the love they showed Myrl and her family during the last week of her life. And thanks to her roommate, Rosa Williams for helping care for Myrl.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12-1:00 pm at Kingsley United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Raymond Amos and Rev. Bryan Moore officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Adam Love officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
