Paul Edwin Coppala

Paul Edwin Coppala died, Tuesday, October 28, after a brief illness. He was born in Charlotte, NC in 1933, attended Harding High School, and graduated with honors from NC State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He came to work at Eastman Kodak in Kingsport in 1956, spent two years in the US Army and returned to Eastman to complete 38 years of service; he retired in 1993.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and George Coppala and one brother Harrill Coppala.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, L. Ginger Coppala, of the home; four children, Jeff and Becky of Knoxville, Christopher and Suzanne of San Antonio, Eric and Kandee of Melbourne, FL and Susan Jackson of Johnson City; Fourteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister-in-law, Carolyn Coppala of WV; niece and nephew, Lynn and Mark Coppala; and best friends Bob & Linda Cornett.

Paul was christened as a child in the Presbyterian Church and served his God his entire life and was very active in all churches in which he was a member.
He was an avid reader, history buff, outdoorsman and loved spending time on his farm in Virginia.

A graveside service will be held, Saturday, 1:00pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Charlotte, NC (his hometown) with the eulogy by his three sons.

In lieu of flowers, Paul would want you to give a gift to your favorite charity in his honor. Thank you.
