Regina Ruth Buchanan

Regina Ruth Buchanan, 61, of Gate City, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2014, after a lengthy illness. As a young woman, Regina was in the Peace Corps. She worked at Advanced Home Health Care as a physical therapist for many years. Regina also taught children with special needs for several years. She dedicated her life to caring for others. Her hobbies included loving and caring for her pets, cooking, entertaining guests and family and travelling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Buchanan and Adele Fern Buchanan.

Regina is survived by her brother, Jack Buchanan, Sr.; nephew, Jack Buchanan, Jr. and wife, Latisha, and their children, Kyleland and Zoey; niece, Christina Varney and husband, Jason and their children, Jillian and Chloe; nephew, Joseph Buchanan; niece, Erin Buchanan Connor.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 pm with Rev. Josh Russell officiating.
