Rev. Doyle J. Castle

Rev. Doyle J. Castle, 71, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. A native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Harvey and Okie Castle. He was the former pastor of Temple of Christian Love and served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam. Doyle loved riding horses, gardening and flowers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Childress; and brothers, Charlie Castle, Bud Castle, and Emory "Peanut" Castle.

Doyle is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley Castle of the home; daughter, Sherry Edwards and husband, Michael of Church Hill; sons, Allen Castle and wife, April of Kingsport, and Pastor Don Castle and wife, Rhonda of Gate City; 8 grandchildren, Cody Yonts, Chelsea Yonts, Casey Castle, Lane Castle, Jeff Castle, Brittany Castle, Stephanie Castle and Allison McDavid "Castle"; 1 great-granddaughter, Arianna Castle; sisters, Mary Depew and Virgie "Sissy" Wallen; brothers, Hughie, Clarence "Red", Roy, Hank, Bill Castle and David Kodak; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and at other times at the home of his daughter, Sherry. A Veteran's Appreciation Service will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 979 prior to visitation. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Castle and Rev. Ronnie Derrick officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be Bill Linkous, John Castle, David Dean, Brently Castle, Jeff Castle and Cody Yonts.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hall St. Holiness Church, 2206 Hall St., Kingsport, TN 37660.
