Stella K. Gillenwater

Stella Olivet Kelly Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN, 93, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning (Dec. 18, 2014) following a brief illness.

Mrs. Gillenwater was born in in Keokee, VA and had resided in Kingsport for most of her life.

Stella was a member of First Baptist Church and a life time member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her husband, Charles Harvey Gillenwater, three brothers, and four sisters preceded her in death.

Surviving are her sons, Larry Gillenwater and wife Beverly, Kingsport, TN; Rick Gillenwater and wife Carolyn, Jonesborough, TN; Bill H. Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN; Terry H. Gillenwater and wife Betty, Blountville, TN; and honorary son, Steve Johnson, Gray, TN; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Princess Kiser, Kingsport, TN; Agnes Miller, Shelbyville, KY; and Mildred Hinkle, Kingsport, TN; one brother, Herbert Kelly and wife Louise, Moorehead City, NC; sisters-in-law: Pat Kelly, Beaufort, SC and Ruth Kelly, Big Stone Gap, VA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Sunday (Dec. 21, 2014) from 2-3:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Marvin Cameron and Rev. Ron Davis officiating.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
