Wanda Dykes Morelock

Wanda Dykes Morelock, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Kingsport, graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended East Tennessee State College. She was employed for over 20 years at the Attorney General's office in Blountville.

Wanda was a member of Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as the pianist for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Morelock; parents, Kent and Sue Dykes; sisters, Audrey Speer, Cuma Collins, Clanthe Dykes; and one brother, Gordon Dykes.

Wanda is survived by her children, Trevor Morelock and wife, Donna of Rogersville, and Brent Morelock and wife, Lisa of Kingsport; grandchildren, Hannah Morelock and Gavin Morelock; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Debbie Stevens, Evelyn Johnson, and Dana Horne for the loving care given to Wanda over the past several months.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm on Tuesday, June 30 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, with the funeral service following immediately afterward with the Reverands Ray Amos and Westley Duncan presiding. Graveside services will be held following the funeral service at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
