Lowanda Brown

Lowanda Brown, 93, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2017. She was born on July 22, 1924, to the late Jess Douglas Lemmons and the late Mary Light Lemmons.

In addition to her parents, Lowanda was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Brown; loving son, Danny Wayne Brown; and brother, Jess "Pete" Lemmons, Jr.

She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed shopping, working in her flowers, and taking care of her precious cats, her "fur babies". She was of the Baptist faith.

Lowanda leaves behind her daughter, Linda Reed and son-in-law, Jimmy; grandson, Brent Reed and wife, Kanokkarn "Bee"; sister, Arica Smith; sister-in-law, Lucille Cody; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingsport Animal Shelter, 2141 Idle Hour Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch Chapel.

The service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.

The graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery.
