Peggy Kerr

Heaven welcomed Peggy Kerr on Dec. 5, 2018 where she joined her parents, brother, and husband of over 50 years. She was always an angel but now it is official.

Born Margaret Josephine "Peggy Jo" Lander in rural Pennsylvania, her piano was her best friend. Despite her quiet demeanor, she was tough as nails. She obtained a master's degree while working full time, she sent all 5 kids to college on a meager income, and for a time taught at a catholic school in inner city Chicago. She remembered the name of each 5th grader she ever taught, and won at Jeopardy every evening while making dinner. Her quiet tenacity was paired with compassion. She was truly the first person to pick you up when you fell, literally and figuratively. She was a person of infinite patience who never desired more than she needed (with the exception of sweets, of course!). She passed along her kind, giving spirit and thirst for knowledge onto her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. She gave everything without complaint and taught us to be grateful for what we have.

Heaven +1 Way to go, Mom!
