Valerie Crosby

Valerie Sharon (Bledsoe) Crosby, of Kingsport, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at her home.
She was born on July 21, 1927 in Big Stone Gap, VA to the late Charles Houston Bledsoe and Carrie Mae (Robbins) Bledsoe. In 1956, she married Elisha (Lish) Alexander Crosby. They raised three children, Thom, Lyle, and Marilyn.
Valerie had a passion for bringing family together to create memories. Her favorite hobby was sorting and cataloging her extensive collection of family photos. Valerie was known for her kind, compassionate spirit, and always focusing outward on the needs of others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lish.
Valerie is survived by her three children, Thom, Lyle, and Marilyn; her six grandchildren, Carmen Smalling, Kelli Crosby, Adam Crosby, McKenzie Crosby, Caleb Crosby, and Cassadi Cotter; and four great-grandchildren, Alexia Oaks, Alanna Cloud, Maddox Smalling, and Penelope Crosby.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30 am to 12 noon at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating.
