Alice M. (Maggie) Spivey

Alice M. (Maggie) Spivey, 94, went to be with her Savior on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Greystone Healthcare Center. Alice was the daughter of the late Raymond Gott and the late Frances Duncan Gott. She was the loving wife of the late Rev. James B. Spivey Sr.. Alice is now reunited in heaven with her husband and children, Shelia Spivey Hood, and James B. Spivey, Jr., who preceded her in death.

Alice was a devoted follower of Christ as well as a supportive pastor's wife for many years. She loved to help anyone in need. She worked with the Girl Scouts, taught Sunday school, and was faithful to help out wherever she was needed. Her family has precious memories of her standing in church to testify of God's goodness while clapping her hands and saying, "It's real children!"

Alice is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Sam) Quillen, her grandchildren, Shane Trent, Kristi Davis, Travis Trent, Kerri Cox, Kelli Roberts (who was her Mamaw's devoted caregiver), Gloria Wilson, Tyler Spivey, Elizabeth Stevens, as well as her daughter-in- law, Vickie Spivey, and many great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held to honor Alice's life.

We rejoice in the promise of eternal life, and we find comfort in the assurance that we will one day be reunited!

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."

Thessalonians 4:13-14
