Anice Barnard

Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.  Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31: 30-31

Anice Barnard passed away on October 11, 2023. Besides being a great wife, mother, and granny, Anice served 23 years in the bus ministry at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. She led an abundance of people to Church and the Lord. She would tirelessly visit children on the weekends inviting them to ride the bus to Church. To all of them she was lovingly known as “Mrs. Barnard”.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Gordon Barnard. 

Survivors include children, Todd Barnard (Susan), Debbie Thomas, Kim Good (Eddie), Karen Broyles (Chuck), Mike Hill (Drema) and Tony Pierson;  grandchildren, Adam Barnard, Brooke Shull (C.J.), Sydney Thomas, Ashley Thomas-Chang (Mark), Kayla Bradley (Wes), Maggie Good, Ethan Good (Danielle), Zack Grutsch (Carmen), Gracie Jones (Seth), Ryan Hughes (Jackie), Travis Hill, Trevor Hill, Elisha Hicks (Johnny and Joanie), Jeremy Pierson (Michelle); eleven great-grandchildren; and dearly loved best friends, Peggy Milhorn and Judy Whitson.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor John Herdman officiating.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Zack Grutsch, Ryan Hughes, Adam Barnard, Wes Bradley, Ethan Good, Seth Jones, C.J. Shull, Mark Chang, and Logan Dillow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church Bus Ministry in Mrs. Barnard's honor.
