Anna Grace Miller

Anna Grace Miller, lovingly known as “Momma” or “Nana”, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 9, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on September 3, 1935, in Harriman, Tennessee, to the late Oran and Grace Pierce.

She will be remembered for her infectious sense of humor, her deep love for family, and her generous heart. She had a true gift for hospitality - her home was always welcoming, her table always full, and her home cooking brought comfort and joy to everyone who gathered there.

A woman of curiosity and adventure, Ann had a remarkable ability to never meet a stranger; friends were simply people she hadn’t met yet. She loved to play tennis and bridge and was a champion Scrabble player, always ready with a quick wit and a competitive spirit.

Above all, she cherished her family. Time spent with her grandchildren brought her immense joy and pride, and her love, laughter, and free spirit will live on through all who knew her. Our greatest hope is that she knew how deeply she was loved.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Sam, Carl, Ed, and Allan; and her sister, Juanita Piercy.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Hal Miller (Marjorie), Rob Miller (Sheri), and Suzie Hale (Bert); her grandchildren, Jennifer Drozdowski (Zach), Abby Miller, Elizabeth Williams (Derek), Claire Miller, and Natalie Hale; and her special great-granddaughters, London and Sydney Williams.

The family is deeply grateful to her caregiver and good friend, Connie Rayfield, whose steady presence and loving care brought comfort and dignity during her final chapter. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the nurses Amanda Bradley and Jennifer Kennedy of Amedisys Hospice for their gentle care and support during her final days.

It was her wish to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:30pm – 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
