Barbara Imogene Barrett

Barbara Imogene Barrett, 82, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday evening, April 27, 2026. Born and raised in Kingsport, Barbara graduated from Lynn View High School and worked for Arcata Graphics for 30 years. Some of her favorite hobbies were bowling and playing cards.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Joseph Barrett; grandson, Keytin Cook; mother, Eva Lee Smith and father, Frank Smith.

She was the devoted and loving mother of four children, Shannon Copas, Vikie Copas, Misti Barrett Clawson (David), and Joseph Barrett (Kimbra). Barbara was also a wonderful and beloved grandmother of eight, Jayce Barrett, Ethan Hall, Mason Hall, Riley Kettinger, Keyton Cook, Daniel Barrett, Caden Barrett, Anthony Clawson, who all adored her. She was one of seven siblings, Joann Thompson, Ronald Smith, Larry Smith, Gary Smith, Carol Wayne Smith, and Ricky Smith; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, with Rev. Ryan Shaffer officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Walkers Fork Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jayce Barrett, Ethan Hall, Mason Hall, Daniel Barrett, Joe Barrett and Shannon Copas. Honorary pallbearer will be Caden Barrett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport to assist with funeral expenses.
