Barbara Cole

Barbara Cole, 77, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at her residence. Born in Kingsport on July 29, 1941, a daughter of the late Hatcher Gilbert and Rose Lee Hamilton, she had resided in this area her entire life. She graduated from Holston High School. Barbara married Wayne Williams on September 29, 2011 in Gate City. She was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mom, granny, sister and friend. Barbara was an avid shopper, loved watching wrestling, and loved her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Drs. and nurses at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Wilcox Hall W-3.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Cole Sr.; son, Eugene Cole Jr.; infant daughter, baby Carrie; and son-in-law, Dudley Holt.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 7 years, D. Wayne Williams; daughter, Deborah Holt of Kingsport; daughter-in-law, Melissa Cole of Kingsport; 7 grandchildren, Jacob Holt and wife, Elizabeth, Amanda Holt, Jonathon Cole and wife, Emily, Emily Holt, her partner in crime, Tom Madden, Channing Williams and wife, Kelsey, and Kreshia Williams; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Judy Miller.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Brother Jim Hawkins and Pastor Bradley E. Reider officiating.

Burial will follow committal services at 11:00 am on Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:15 am Friday and then proceed to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Holt, Jonathon Cole, Channing Williams, Roger Williams, Anthony Williams and Matt Reedy.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 871 N. Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, TN 37909, or to the Sullivan County Humane Society, 2141 Idle Hour Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660.
