Barbara Jeanette Bryant Roark

Barbara Jeanette Bryant Roark, 83, Bristol, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Life Care of Elizabethton. Barbara was born on June 17, 1942, to the late Roy and Louise Moore Bryant in Bristol, VA, where she remained a lifelong resident. Barbara was a faithful member of Throne of Grace Baptist Tabernacle in Bristol, TN. She was lovingly known as “The Poem Lady”, often gifting others with Christian poems to brighten their day. Barbara had a love for gardening and growing flowers; she greatly enjoyed their beauty. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many; her presence will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Elton Roark; sister, Gail Self; and brother, Joe Bryant.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Christopher Allen Roark; sisters, Joyce Marie Hicks and Mary Jane Piper; grandchildren, Ally Cheyenne Rasnake (Jeffrey) and Christopher Andrew Roark (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Bentley and Austin Roark and Andrew Rasnake and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Blountville.
