Barbara Jane Wilmoth

Barbara Jane Linkous Wilmoth, 86, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Barbara was born on January 23, 1940 in Sullivan County. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Wilmoth on December 7, 1958. Barbara was known to be quick-witted and on occasion, stubborn. She always spoke her mind and loved fiercely. She was a caregiver to several family members including her parents and sister, Sandy. She never left their presence in the nursing home. Barbara was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was truly one of a kind.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Irma Linkous; husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” Wilmoth; and sister, Sandy Linkous.

Survivors include her children, Gina Geisler (Danny), Shawna Smith (David), Jason Wilmoth (Tammy); grandchildren, Keisha Scott (Jamie), Cheyenne Ferrell (Chris), Derek Geisler (Ashley), Erica Flenniken (Charles); nine great-grandchildren; and close friends, Wayne and Jennifer Carter.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
