Betty Clevenger Dunham

Betty Clevenger Dunham, 88, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born in Benham, KY where she resided until coming to Kingsport in the early 50’s. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked at the Little Store and later enjoyed teaching ceramics at Eastman Employee Center. Betty was a charter member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William G. and Ella Mae Clevenger; her loving husband of 61 years, Jimmy L. Dunham; six sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include her children, Richard W. Dunham and wife Clara, David Dunham and wife Teresa, Bill Dunham and wife Donna; six grandchildren, Brandon (Eva), Justin (Amanda), Matthew, Lindsey, Chris, Andrew; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Clevenger, Janie Clevenger, Phyllis Sledd; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4:00 – 5:30pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:30pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 2:00pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
