Betty Joyce Chandler Begley, 83, of Kingsport, has gone home to be with her heavenly Father, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side. Born in Wise County, VA on November 12, 1932, daughter of the late James "Jim" Monroe and Elizabeth Chandler, she had resided in this area since 1954.

She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Pleasant Mount Baptist Church in Rogersville. Betty will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, granny and friend who loved laughter with her family, family reunions and get togethers and loved to praise the Lord.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Marta Wayt and staff, and special friends, Jordan and Jera Kiser, Whitney Hill, Kim Meade, Mindy Miller, Norma Gross and the staff of Amedysis Hospice.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Lonnie Floyd Begley in 1970; daughter, Connie Sue Begley; and brothers, Teddy Chandler, Sr. and Troy Chandler, Sr.

Survivors include her sons, Rhonnie Begley and wife, Rosella, Wayne Begley and wife, Kay, David Begley and wife, Sandy; daughters, Angela Baker and husband, Darrell, Glenda Clark and husband, Butch, and Marilyn Hickman and husband, Lawrence; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Chandler and Orpha Chandler; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and at other hours at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor David Begley officiating and speakers, Associate Pastor Wayne Begley and Rhonnie Begley officiating. Special music will be provided by Rachel Pritchard and Anna Begley

The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lane, Stacy Clark, Denny Begley, Aaron Begley, Jacob Begley, Jeff Fair, Nate Begley, Randall Begley and Saige Strickler. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hall Tracy Christian, Joey Davis, Billy Bryant, Caleb Begley, Tray Harper and Jordan Kiser.
