Bill Eugene Fink, Kingsport, passed away on September 5, 2025, at his residence. Born on September 30, 1929, he was the son of Orville C. and Mollie Hinkle Fink. Bill had resided in this area all his life. After graduation from Holston High School, he attended East Tennessee University from 1948 to 1952 and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After college, Bill joined the military as an Army Security Agent and served 14 months in Korea. Bill took an early honorable discharge at the end of the war after serving 2 years and 9 months.
After his retirement from the military, Bill returned to Kingsport. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Lula V. Gilliam and together they enjoyed traveling and engaging in the things they had not previously had time to do.
Bill worked for Mason Dixon Freight Lines, Inc. in different areas of management and retired in 1989 on his 60th birthday. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon, Elder and Chairman of various committees. Bill was very active in the community having served in several capacities until his passing. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many activities throughout the area.
Mr. Fink was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 64 years, Lula; sisters, Lilly Mae Fink, Wanda Bentley, Louise Shaffer, Kate Grills and brother, Dale Fink. He is survived by his brother, Jim Fink and wife, Debbie, his loving caregiver since the death of his beloved wife, Lula and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in the chapel of Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Blountville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Bros. Paul Bachman and Mark Knicely. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace with military honors presented by American Legion Post #3/265 and the Virginia National Guard.
