He was born in Kingsport on April 24, 1941.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Murray Strickler; a daughter, Cindi Latta and husband, James Lewis; a son, Dr. Jonathon Strickler and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Alyssa, Colin, Ava, Trey, Portia, Rion,
Bentley, Matthew, Shilah, and Trey Lewis; great-Grandson, Rylee; his mother, Ruth Strickler; a sister, Annette Thornburg and husband, Steve; two brothers, Jerry Strickler and wife, Ann, and Michael Strickler and wife, Teresa; mother-in-law, Iva Ruth Murray, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday July 3, 2010 at 3 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.
