Brenda Calloway

Brenda Caloway 81, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol. Born on February 17, 1945, she lived in this area all of her life. Brenda accepted the Lord at an early age at Belvue Christian Church. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1963 and graduated from ETSU

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Calloway and Opal Bates; grandparents, Loyd and Dora Anderson and George and Hattie Calloway; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and close friends, Ruth Laws and Cheryl Hayes. 

She is survived by her goddaughter Tonya (Laws) Shockley, uncle Joel Calloway, several cousins and special friend/neighbor Allan Neece.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Holy Mountain Baptist Church, with visitation from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and services at 2 p.m. All are welcome and feel free to wear blue as it was her favorite color.

A special thanks to Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home for their care of Brenda Calloway. There will be no formal graveside service.
