Brenda "Nana" Gillis

Brenda “Nana” Gillis, 69, of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Nana was a member of Depews Chapel U.M.C. She had worked in healthcare as an LPN for years.

Nana was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gillis; parents, Jasper and Wanda Strickler.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Morley; stepson, Sam Gillis; three grandchildren, Kaytlynn Guzman and husband, Daniel, Sierra Faith, Emily Anne; and all who called her Nana.; one great-granddaughter, Diana “Monkey” Guzman; three brothers, David Strickler and wife, Gail, Jackie Strickler, Joey Strickler and wife, Sherry; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
