Bruce “Poogie” Carrico, 69, Kingsport, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Scott County to the late James “Hen” and Clalie Carrico. He had lived in this area all of his life. He worked for many years with his brother in landscaping. He loved going fishing and was an avid CB radio enthusiast. His friends knew his handle as “Feel Good”.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Jenny Carrico, just 23 days apart. It brings the family comfort to know they’re reunited forever.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Jennifer Barger and husband Brian; sons, Tyler Carrico, James Carrico and wife Tasha, and John Carrico; grandchildren, Chelsey Barger, Emily Begley, Liam, Landon, Lance, Quincy, Corbin, and J.J. Carrico; great-grandson, Waylon Begley; brother, Roy “Bill” Carrico; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home of his son, James. Visitation will take place from 1pm – 3pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will follow at 3pm with Pastor Kyle Scott and Pastor Allen Brummett officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Chestnut Flats Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Gate City, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Quincy, Corbin, Landon, Lance, Billy and friends.
