Bruce Edward Moore

Bruce Edward Moore, 86, of Johnson City, passed away on July 19, 2026, at NHC in Johnson City. He was born on July 24, 1939, in Wheeling, WV and the son of John and Violet Moore. Bruce graduated from WVU in Morgantown, WV and began his Chemical Engineering career at Eastman Chemical Company. He led an accomplished career at Eastman in various capacities, retiring at 40 years as Senior VP. Bruce also served many years at Mountain View United Methodist Church, Kingsport in various leadership roles. Golf was a favorite hobby.

Those left to cherish his memory are, Jean, wife of 40 years; daughter, Michelle Buckles; son-in-law, Matt Buckles; grandchildren, Gillian Paulsen (Dr.), Lauren Paulsen, Alyssa Paulsen of Kingsport; and niece, Lisa Olson of CA.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff at NHC, Johnson City, Station 4 for their professional and enduring commitment in caring for Bruce during his various stays at NHC. Also, to Caris Hospice, for their coordination of care for Bruce.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Rev. Mandy Taylor Young officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mountain View UMC. A portion of these contributions will also be made to Holston Home for Children in Greeneville, TN.
