C. Wade Cox

C. Wade Cox, 90, Gray, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Wade retired from TEC in 1997 where he worked as an electrician. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Wade was an avid bottle collector, farmer and a very active member of Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church. It brings the family great comfort to know he’s right where he wants to be and that is with his Heavenly Father and with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Cox; parents Cecil and Ora Hale Cox; and brother, S.G. Cox.

Wade is survived by his daughter, Sonja Crowe; son, Miles Cox and wife, Tammy; grandson, Gunnar Crowe and wife, Josie; nephews, Tommy Cox and Danny Cox; and a host of friends and family.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. George Winegar, Bro. Kevin Rose and Bro. David Grubb officiating. Special singing will be by Judy Carroll and Junior Grills. Burial will follow in the church cemetery

Pallbearers will be Miles Cox, Gunnar Crowe, Eddie Barry, Gentry Ferguson, Brandel Rose, Brandon Hite and Steven Carroll. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Horne, Tommy Cox, Danny Cox and Dalton Skirvin.
