Carole Montgomery Pectol, 83, passed away on April 27, 2026, surrounded by family at her home in Johnson City.

Carole was born on November 27,1942, in Johnson City, the daughter of the late Trox and Rose Miller Montgomery, she is preceded in death by her sisters Jane McCalla and Ellen Montgomery.

Carole is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard W. Pectol; her sisters, Ann Richards and Eva Parks; her children, Lisa Clayton (Charlie), Dr. Wes Pectol (Cynthia), David Pectol (Courtney), James Pectol (Angie), and Michael Pectol; her grandchildren, Winston Clayton, Matthew Clayton, Ali Drake, Sam Pectol, Dr. Wesley Pectol and Ellie Pectol; five great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A gifted cook, homemaker, and gardener, Carole was devoted to creating a warm and loving home for her family and friends. Among her many interests and passions, she was a voracious reader, a competitive tennis player - winning a USTA Tennessee state championship in doubles - and she was an accomplished bridge player who cherished playing games with her close friends.

In honor of her wishes, there will be no formal service. She requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson City Library.
