Carolyn Sue Hicks

Carolyn Sue Hicks, 77, of Kingsport went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 13, 2024, at The Blake in Kingsport, TN surrounded by her family holding her hands. Carolyn was born on January 11, 1947, in Sullivan County, TN and resided in the area her entire life.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Warren & Anna “Ruth” Hite and husband, Jimmie Hicks.  

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen Spriggs and husband, Eddie; Shelia Wills and husband, Eric; son, Brian Hicks and wife, Paula; grandchildren: Amber (William) Engels, Ty (Kayla) Spriggs, Avery (Josh) Strong, Tori Spriggs, and Aaron (Janey) Wills; great-grandchildren, Willow and Maiana Spriggs, and loving companion, Charlie Ratliff

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Mark Wills.  Interment will follow in the Garden of Gethsemane at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, TN 37617.

Pallbearers will be Eric Wills, Aaron Wills, Eddie Spriggs, Ty, Spriggs, Josh Strong and Jeff Widener.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Peyton McCracken.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Lisa Johnson, Kaci Briden, and Smokey Mountain Hospice and to the staff at The Blake Memory Care Center at Kingsport for their exceptional care.
