Carolyn Ruth Walker (Cutshaw)

Carolyn Ruth Walker (Cutshaw), 82, of Fall Branch, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Throughout her life, Carolyn devoted herself to caring for others. Her career in nursing was more than a profession; it was a reflection of who she was. She had a heart for helping people, comforting those who were hurting, and making a difference in the lives of those around her. That same love and devotion carried into every part of her life, especially in the way she cared for her family.

Carolyn loved her children and grandchildren dearly and took great joy in spending time with them. Family was at the center of her life, and some of her happiest moments were simply being together—sharing conversations, laughter, memories, and the everyday moments that become so precious over time. She also cherished her many friendships and treasured the time she spent with those who were important to her.

Those who knew Carolyn will remember her not only for the care she gave as a nurse, but also for the love, kindness, and generosity she showed throughout her life. Her greatest legacy will be found in the many lives she touched and, in the family, she loved so deeply.

In addition to her parents, Emmitt and Selma Cutshaw, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Walker; brother Billy Fred Cutshaw; and sisters, Jo Ann Light, Betty Jones, Frances Pitt, and her twin Cathryn Franklin.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Todd Duncan, Tim Duncan, and Joshua Hood; grandchildren, Colby and Courtney Duncan, Amanda Ward, Emmett, Henry, and Clementine Hood; great-grandsons, Hank Ward and Waylon Skeens; along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held in the coming weeks.
