Chad Anthony Self

Chad Anthony Self, 54, of Bristol, Virginia passed away on July 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Chad was born in Bristol, Tennessee on May 30, 1972, to the late Tommy Self and Kay Leonard. He was an avid fisherman, while he was able, and especially enjoyed being out on the water with his uncles; he also enjoyed spending time in the garage, working on old cars. Chad was previously a member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church, Bristol, Virginia.

Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Self and Kay Leonard; grandmother, Ethel Frazier and grandfather, Paul Jack Frazier. Those left to cherish his memory are his long-time partner, Kasey Kennedy; sons, Cass Self, Chance Self and Mali Kennedy; daughters, Laikin Ball (Jimmy) and Belle Kennedy Fleenor (Owen); granddaughter, Aubrey Self; grandson, Elijah Ball; uncles, Jack Pritchard (Sarah), Larry Pritchard (Aundra), Terry Pritchard and several cousins.

Chad will be privately laid to rest alongside his grandmother, Ethel Frazier, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral & Home Memorial Park, Blountville, Tennessee.
