Charles A. “Gibo” Gibson, 88, of Colonial Heights, TN passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Born on October 26, 1936 in Johnson City, TN, Charles was the beloved husband of Linda; devoted father to Drew and Casey (Yasmin); and fun-loving “Poppy” to grandsons Shawn and Jacob. After graduating from McCallie School, Charles went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Charles returned to East Tennessee, establishing a distinguished career at Eastman Chemical Company, retiring as the Director of Human Resources in 1996. Following his retirement, Charles remained active and engaged with the community, volunteering for Hope Haven Ministries, joining building crews for Habitat for Humanity, and supporting Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. An avid fisherman, sailor, and pilot, Charles was happiest communing with friends, family and nature on the warm waters of Boone Lake. Charles was a man of integrity and patience. He is remembered with tearful smiles for the warmth and kindness he shared with all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Linda; sons, Drew and Casey (Yasmin); grandchildren, Shawn and Jacob; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
