Charles "Slick" Light

Charles “Slick” Light, 91 of Blairs Gap Community, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Slick had retired from the Sullivan County Highway Department. He was a longtime member of the True Light Quartet, having sung at many churches in the area.

Slick was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece Light; son, Telford Light; sisters, Shelby Light and Shirley Morelock.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Light; sons, Glen Light and wife, Sharon, Johnny Light and wife, Lisa, and Mike Light and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Tanner Light and wife, Mary, and Tasha Salyer and husband, Travis; great-grandchildren, Mason Light, Atticus Houser and Stella Salyer; brother, Junior Light; sister, Norma Jean Israel; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Clifford Cole and Rev. Bob Simpson officiating. Music will be provided by Gary Woods.

Burial will follow at Light Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
