Charles N. Marshall, 95, of Kingsport died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 5:35pm at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Marshall was born on January 8, 1912 in Hawkins County. He served his country in the U. S. Navy.

Mr. Marshall was a man of many talents. He served many families, especially in the Ridgefields area, as carpenter, builder, repairman, and furniture maker. He also did beautiful stained glass work. The results of his many works remain today in many homes throughout the Kingsport area and in several churches.

He was a longtime and faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel.

He was married to Nannie Barrett Marshall for 67 years. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2004. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Alfred Marshall and Ollie Elizabeth Bray Marshall; sisters, Edna Louise Marshall Roller, Ora Velma Marshall, and Ada Grace Marshall Ireson; aunt, Verna B. Galliher; great-niece, Denna Feazel Luta; and nephews, Thomas Lee Roller and Danny Kent Marshall.

Surviving are his niece, Imogene Feazel and husband, John of DeRidder, LA; great-nieces, Cynthia Funderburg and husband, Eddie of Ardmore, OK; Mary Scotka and husband, Dennis of Pipe Creek, TX; great-great-nieces, Rebecca Funderburg and Amanda Funderburg, both of Ardmore, OK; numerous cousins; and his faithful friend, Dave McClure.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel.

Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with Dr. Randy Pressnell and Dr. David C. Nowell, Vice President of Carson Newman College, officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Lyle Smith, Larry Dishner, Charles Fuller, Gary Grills, Bob Larkins, Harry Morgan, David Salyer, and Wayne Vaughn.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men 65 Plus Sunday School Class and the Deacons of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
