Clara Hazel Barton, 93, of Baileyton, Tennessee, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at her home.
Born in Baileyton, she was a member of Chimney Top Free Will Baptist Church and had recently attended Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Barton was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Roy Gregg; her second husband, Cecil M. Barton; brothers, Rome Adams, Worley Adams, Reco Adams, and Robert Adams; and sisters, Victory Hughes, Flossie Roberts, Grace Walters, and Edith Beck.
Surviving are one son, Rev. Carl V. Gregg and wife, Mae, Baileyton; six grandchildren, Carl V. Gregg Jr., Elizabeth Fields, Clifford Gregg, Mark Gregg, Roy Gregg, and Cecil Gregg; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Clarence Adams, Johnson City; and a special niece, Linda Gass, Greeneville, TN.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Malone and Rev. Buck Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
