Clyde Wayne Taylor, 83, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. Born June 18, 1942, in Kingsport, Wayne spent most of his life in East Tennessee, leaving only to serve his country. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant in the Military Police, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Wayne was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and dedicated his career to education in Sullivan County, retiring as Director of Special Education. He made a lasting impact on the lives of many students and families.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Taylor; his son, Randel Taylor and wife Jill; his daughters, Kim Jones and husband Wayne, and Becky Raiford; and his grandchildren, Julian Raiford, Lilly Taylor, Maggie Taylor, and Finnley Taylor.

In his later years, he faced Parkinson’s disease with quiet strength, finding his greatest joy in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Wayne’s journey on earth has ended, and he is now at peace.
