Conkin Ruth
Ruth Conkin, 85, of Kingsport, passed away Monday morning, August 6, 2007, at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ober Conkin; a son, Edward Conkin; her parents, Robert Okey Mowell and Ora Ellen Ryans Mowell; five sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Keith Conkin and Ricky Conkin, both of Kingsport; two sisters, Martha Parker and Charlotte Morelock, both of Kingsport; one brother, Bennie?Bud? Mowell, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Mowell Cemetery with Rev. Pete Smith officiating. Those attending the graveside service should gather at the cemetery around 10:45 a.m.
Pallbearers will be R. C. Barrett, J. W. Ryans, Richard Crawford, Tim Mowell, Wayne Simpson, and Michael Hass.
