Fall Branch

Dane Faulkner

As written in the scriptures, see that love and peace endure in your life; love one another. Take care of each other. Do no harm physically or verbally. Read and live the Bible teachings.

Dane Faulkner, age 79, of Fall Branch, TN. went to be with the Lord June 16, 2025 following a recent period of declining health. Born on June 21, 1945, he was a few days away from his 80th birthday. Dane had resided in Greene County since 1976.

He graduated from Powell High School, Knoxville, TN. Dane graduated from the University of Tennessee. He served his country in the Air Force National Guard. Dane worked as an insurance adjuster until he retired in 2002 to start Faulkner Construction.

Dane was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist where he served on trustee and staff parish committees, went on mission trips, and taught Sunday School for many years. He enjoyed spending his time helping others with construction projects for Shades of Grace, Camp Bays Mountain (a United Methodist camp for youth/adults in Kingsport, TN) and other non-profit organizations.

Dane Faulkner was a “renaissance man” who loved being active and forming relationships with others. He had the gift of gab and loved to talk and get to know people. He did it all! He loved the great outdoors, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, bicycling, and motorcycle adventures, on the back roads and through the woods. He loved to travel and took extensive vacations with family, and many adventure trips with friends. He built several ultra-light airplanes and flew them around the tri cities area for years. Dane” lived out loud”. He was an enthusiastic craftsman and builder. He enjoyed making furniture and working with his hands. He sketched the family home on a napkin and built it himself by reading books about construction and help from friends.

Dane will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband by Mary Faulkner, his wife of 55 years. Loving father to his children Avery Smith (husband, Stephen) and Neal Faulkner (wife, Bobbie). Grand Daddy, to Marley and Lulu and Great Grand Daddy to Aura Rose, who made life fun and so enjoyable. Other survivors are brother, Randy Faulkner (wife, Axie) of Heiskell, TN. and brother-in-law, Bill Bailey of Kingsport. Special friends: Lannie Farrar, Phillip Almany, Jim Ramey, Jerry Vicars, Mike Smith, Roy McClain, Aiden Pratt, Hardee’s breakfast club folks, church family, and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent for “camping ministries” to Camp Bays Mountain to serve children/youth; 1435 S’mores Trail; Kingsport, TN. 37660.

Dane’s Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 22 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church in Sullivan Gardens; 3200 Glen Alpine Road; Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
